About Matt

Matt is married and he and his wife have three children. Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama Birmingham with a major in History. While at UAB he was a member of the Honors Program, ran track and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

He attended Cumberland School of Law and obtained a Juris Doctor while participating as a Cordell Hull Teaching Fellow. He is also a member of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.

Matt is licensed to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association where he is active on the Entertainment Committee. Matt is a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyer’s Association, Defense Research Institute as well as an Associate member of the Alabama Worker’s Compensation Organization, Inc.

Matt is one of the founding members of Estes, Sanders & Williams. His areas of practice include insurance coverage disputes, premises liability, employment law, trucking litigation, products liability and worker’s compensation. Matt has tried over 75 jury and non-jury trials to a conclusion including lead counsel in wrongful death matters. Matt is also a frequent featured speaker at the AWCO and other industry conferences.
